Who we are.
Plaine Studios was born out of the idea of taking the constantly evolving and somewhat complex worlds of design and digital media, and making them accessible to individuals and businesses who want to spend more time selling their product than updating their website or dealing with bloated advertising agencies. We aim to keep things small, simple and keep the focus on your project, not our next project. The boutique approach of Plaine Studios affords us the ability to spend quality time with each client we serve, developing ideas and delivering tools that are affordable, easy to understand and that deliver a high return on investment. We can try and impress you with words like "user interface" or "marketing architecture," but we prefer to talk to you in plain English. We prefer to build relationships, not our portfolio. Plaine Studios designs with intent. Let us help you take your business to a new level.
Chris Brown
In 1997, Chris earned a B.A. in Communications from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania, with an emphasis in broadcast journalism. In 2001, he moved to New Orleans and shortly thereafter met acclaimed designer Brett Calzada, who had recently formed a new company called New Emit. Over the next several years, Brett and Chris built New Emit into one of the premier web design firms in the Gulf South. During this same time Chris started Plaine Studios as a side project, focused on digital video production in New Orleans. In 2005, Hurricane Katrina spread New Emit around the country. However, Chris returned to post-Katrina New Orleans to further develop Plaine Studios into a full service design agency.
Jacee Brown
Jacee attended the University of Southern Mississippi for Graphic Communication. While there, she became equally interested in her Sociology coursework, and how the design of our world can inspire social and personal change. She graduated with degrees in both fields in 2003. She began her design career at Neill Corporation, creating both print and web media for Aveda lifestyle salons and spas around the country. In 2004, she became Loyola University New Orleans' lead web designer. Jacee continues to serve Loyola as their Director of Web Communications, overseeing the creative direction of Loyola's 21,000 page site.
